About Dr. Schmitz
Dr. Schmitz is a board-certified Family Medicine and Obesity Medicine physician. She specializes in weight management and midlife health, dedicated to promoting preventative care and helping both women and men reach their wellness goals.
In her 10+ years practicing primary care, Dr. Schmitz saw many of her patients struggling with high blood pressure, high cholesterol, diabetes, heart disease, joint pain, fatigue, and several other weight-related health conditions. She knew there was a more productive and lasting method to treat and prevent these serious health issues. So many of these chronic conditions were the result of a single, complicated culprit – excess weight.
Recognizing the unique challenges faced by patients during midlife, including hormonal shifts, metabolic changes, and lifestyle stressors, Dr. Schmitz pursued advanced training and became a board-certified Diplomate of the American Board of Obesity Medicine in 2018.
Dr. Schmitz combines her comprehensive training to treat the whole patient, not just a single concern. With a deep understanding of how hormones, weight, lifestyle, and chronic conditions interact, she provides personalized, evidence-based care that addresses both the root causes and the daily realities of midlife health.
Unfortunately, the traditional medical clinic schedule leaves little time to dedicate to weight management in a thorough and effective manner. As a result, patients may experience inadequate treatment, limited guidance, lack of progress, and potential weight regain. They may also be tempted by fad diets or invest in costly supplements and ineffective programs that fail to deliver results, leaving patients feeling frustrated and discouraged.
After years of seeing the joy of success in her patients, Dr. Schmitz established Revive Health Medical Weight Loss & Wellness to bridge the gap between primary care and the resources patients deserve to regain their health, once and for all. With her extensive medical background and experience, Dr. Schmitz is able to remain mindful of pre-existing conditions, partner with other members of your healthcare team, as well as assist in managing any new medical concerns that may arise throughout your weight loss journey. This ensures safety throughout the process.
